📖 How to Use KirtanXCards

Add Songs

Use Manual to type everything, Spotify Search to auto-fill art + info, or paste a quick "Song | Artist | Lyrics" block via URL Guide.

Get Lyrics

Use the Lyrics Helper tab to open Genius, AZLyrics etc. Paste lyrics, trim to 3–6 lines, assign to your card. Handwriting fonts available!

Add Images

Upload album art from your phone/PC using the 📁 button — most reliable. Or paste image URL from Spotify Web Player or Google Images.

Pick Style

5 card types: Spotify Canvas, Lyric Poster, Album Cover, Minimal Quote, Polaroid. Mix and match fonts (including handwriting!) and 20 color palettes.

Arrange Order

After adding songs, drag cards in the Arrange panel to set the exact print order before generating your A4 sheet.

Print

Hit Print/PDF → Enable Background Graphics → A4 paper → Save as PDF. Take PDF to local shop. ₹10–30/page.

Export/Import

Save your song collection as JSON file with custom name. Import to restore or share collections. Images need re-uploading after import.

Your uploaded photo as full background with gradient overlay. Lyrics and song name on top. Most cinematic.

Clean and literary. Big quote mark, italic lyrics, song/artist at bottom. Great as bookmarks.

Say "A4 photo sheet, full color, background graphics". ₹10–30/page. Cut 6 cards = ₹2–5/card. Laminate for ₹5 extra. Total: under ₹10/card.

Best Paper Types

Glossy photo paper for vibrant Spotify-style cards. Matte for minimal/poster style. Regular A4 works too for test prints.

Cutting Neatly

Print guides: use 8mm margin setting and align cards to that. Paper cutter / guillotine gives best edges. Scissors work fine too.

Server-side proxy

Your Spotify API credentials are stored securely as server environment variables on Vercel — they are never exposed to the browser or visible in source code.

How search works

When you search a song, the request goes to /api/spotify (a serverless function) which fetches results from Spotify using the secure credentials and returns them to you.

Instant & cached

Results are cached for 60 seconds on the server — searches feel instant and don't waste API quota on repeated queries.

Go to Spotify Developer Dashboard

Visit developer.spotify.com/dashboard → Log in with your regular Spotify account (free or paid)

Create an App

Click "Create app" → Fill:
• App name: KirtanXCards
• Description: Personal song card maker
• Redirect URI: https://kirtanxcards.vercel.app (use your deployed URL)
• Check: Web API → Agree → Save

Copy Your Credentials

Inside your app → Click Settings → Copy Client ID → Click "View client secret" → Copy Client Secret

Paste Below and Save

Enter both below → Save & Connect → Done! Credentials stored only in your browser, never sent anywhere else.

2. Copyright & Intellectual Property

Lyrics are copyrighted. All song lyrics belong to their respective artists, songwriters, and music publishers. KirtanXCards does not store, host, distribute, or reproduce any lyrics.

  • You are responsible for any lyrics you enter into this tool.
  • Cards generated are for personal, non-commercial use only.
  • Do not sell or commercially distribute cards made with this tool that contain copyrighted lyrics or artwork.

This tool does not reproduce or store any third-party content — it only renders content you manually enter or images you upload.

3. Spotify API Usage

This tool optionally integrates with the Spotify Web API using your own developer credentials. Your credentials are stored only in your browser's localStorage and used solely to fetch publicly available track metadata (song name, artist, album art) from Spotify's servers.

  • This tool complies with Spotify's Developer Terms of Service.
  • No Spotify user account data is accessed or stored.
  • Album artwork fetched via API belongs to respective rights holders.
